Kolkata : On 24th and 25th June, the West Bengal arm of Sahakar Bharati, a national cooperative association inspired by the RSS, held its first ever state conference at Adyapith. It was attended by 458 delegates,328 men and 126 women, from 22 districts of Bengal and more than a hundred like-minded guests from across the state and country. Sri Markandeya Singh, the President of the dairy cell of Sahakar Bharati started the event by hoisting the Sahakar Bharati flag. Then Sri Sushanta Sarkar, All India Vice-President, inaugurated the exhibition of cooperative products from different parts of the state. Natural honey,Tulaipanji rice,Tant saree,incence stick produced by indigenous method, soap and indigenous medicines and other different products produced by different co operatives were exhibited and the co operators exchanged notes among themselves.
The program of the 24th was attended by Sri Mural Bhai, a revered monk of Adyapith, Sri.Adyaita Charan Dutta – Akhil Bharatiya Saha Pracharak Pramukh, Dr. Uday Joshi- All India General Secretary Sahakar Bharati, Sri Vijay Debangan- All India Organizing Secretary Sahakar Bharati etc. The ceremony was inaugurated by lighting the auspicious lamp and garlanding the photo of Bharat Mata by Sri Mural Bhai. Congratulatory video messages from Railway Minister Hon’ble Suresh Prabhu and message from Hon’ble Governor of West Bengal Shri Kesri Nath Tripathy were played at the venue. This was followed by a speech and unveiling of Samabay Prabaha magazine by Sri Adyaita Charan Dutta who highlighted the problems of Co-operative movement in West Bengal and opportunity for Sahakar Bharati in detail. Rabindra Researcher Dr. Niranjan Bhattacharya discussed Rabindranath Tagore’s thoughts on cooperative movement.
The election of the office bearers of the Bengal arm of Sahakar Bharati for the coming three years was held in the evening. Sri Bishnu Bobrey, All India Asst. Organizing Secretary, Sahakar Bharati conducted the election. Sri Bijoy Krisna Talukder and Sri Sanjay Tripathi were elected as the President and General Secretary respectively. Dr. Uday Joshi welcome the winning candidates.
25th June was devoted to the closing ceremony of the conference. It was attended by dignitaries of RSS and Sahakar Bharati like Sri Sunil Pada Goswami,Member Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha of RSS and Purva Khestra Pracharak Dr. Pradip Joshi. Newly elected President Sri Bijoy Krisna Talukder announced the 43 members from Rajya Karya Karini Committee.
In the concluding speech Sri Vijay Debangan urged the members to take a vow to strengthen the movement even further and spread its scope and benefits to every corner of the state
With Shri Bibekananda Patra, Organizing Secretary West Bengal Sahakar Bharati, chanting the concluding Mantra, the curtain fell on the two day’ State Conference.
